The Long Reach Frontier Formally Opened

One cycle after the Long Reach capability’s arrival, the Council formally declared the Long Reach Frontier open to settlement — a declaration that, by the Wire’s own retrospective coverage, arrived faster than the underlying administrative capacity to manage it. The Long Reach Ministry, barely a cycle old itself, inherited a settlement mandate before its own budget process had been fully established, a sequencing problem that has never fully resolved and underlies the ongoing Long Reach Expansion funding dispute with the First Circle.

The frontier’s outer edge, where it runs against Ashgirt Remnant territory, was not separately surveyed or declared at this stage — a gap that would surface as the Ashgirt Border Dispute roughly a cycle later.
